NJAFM is offering scholarships that cover full registration for its annual 3-day conference—an essential gathering for professionals in engineering, planning, emergency management, code enforcement, and other floodplain-related roles. This conference provides valuable networking opportunities and the latest updates on flood risk, policy, and technology.
Eligibility:
- Must be an Active Member of NJAFM in good standing, or have recently applied for membership.
- Must represent a local governmental jurisdiction in a relevant capacity (e.g., floodplain administrator, CRS coordinator, code official, mayor, or emergency manager).
- Preference given to first-time attendees.

Award Categories
Lifetime Floodplain Management Achievement
This award recognizes individuals who have been instrumental throughout their careers in advancing the goals and objectives of floodplain management.
Floodplain Management Leadership Award
This award recognizes individuals, other than local officials, who have achieved significant success in advancing floodplain management. Contributions may include, but are not limited to, education, government, policy, research, litigation, outreach, implementation, or other efforts that demonstrate a commitment to reducing flood losses.
Outstanding Local Floodplain Management Official
This award recognizes outstanding individual efforts and contributions at the local level. It honors individuals who have developed a local floodplain management program or activity, or who have made significant strides in implementing and enforcing measures to reduce flood hazards within their community.
Outstanding Floodplain Management Award
This award recognizes an outstanding floodplain management program, project, or activity in New Jersey. Eligible nominations may include projects, programs, or activities at the local, state, or regional level that demonstrate noteworthy achievements in floodplain management.
Media Award
This award recognizes exemplary efforts by members of the communications media to increase public information and awareness of flood-related issues.
Founder’s Award
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated long-term leadership within NJAFM and made significant contributions that have influenced and advanced the Association.
